After your breakfast, your guide will pick you up for a 60 km journey to the famous Cu Chi tunnels (around one and a half hour drive). On arrival, you will get a short introduction and watch a documentary video about the life of Viet Cong in these tunnels during the war. The tunnels were not only home to thousands of people, but also supplied routes and hospitals for the soldiers. Then you have the chance to discover the tunnels by yourself. Jump in and explore the storage facilities, weapon factories, kitchens, etc. Afterwards, you are offered the choice to try out real guns like AK47 or MK16 at the nearby shooting range. You can then relax with rice tapioca and green tea just like the guerrilla soldiers during the war. Return back to Ho Chi Minh City, where you will savor your late lunch in a nice restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will visit the War Remnants museum, which was originally opened since 1975, with old military equipment and other items related to the tragic time of Vietnam War. Your next afternoon attraction is the Reunification Palace, which symbolize the end of the war when a North Vietnamese Army tank crashed through its gates. Take a short walk to the Notre Dame Cathedral, a still active church and favorite place for Vietnamese wedding photos, and the Central Post Office, designed by the world famous architecture Gustav Eiffel. Finish your city tour at the Ho Chi Minh city hall, the most popular photographed building of this city, especially in the evening when the lights turn on.
