Day 1: Hanoi Arrival – Free (D)

Xin Chao! Welcome to Hanoi and Vietnam.

Upon your arrival at the Noi Bai international airport, your car and driver will already be there waiting for you with a name board and transfer for around 30 minutes you to your hotel in the Hanoi Old Quarter for check-in (check-in time is from 14:00. Early check-in depends on availability). Then you have free time to relax after a long flight till evening.

In the evening, you will meet your guide in a nice romantic restaurant for a warm welcome dinner. You will be transferred back to your hotel. End of your first day.

Day 2: Hanoi City Tour (B, L)

After your leisure breakfast, you will be picked up by your guide and driver to start your city with the famous Ho Chi Minh Complex. Here you have the chance to contemplate the Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, House-on-Stilts, and the Ho Chi Minh Museum. Afterwards, you set off to the 1000 years old Temple of Literature. This is Vietnam’s first university and dated back to the year 1070 and is now the destination for young students to praise for luck in their upcoming exams. Savor your lunch at a nice restaurant.

After lunch, you will continue your trip to one of the most attractive museums in Hanoi – Museum of Ethnology. At this historical place you will be clearly explained by your guide about all the 54 ethnic minorities with hundreds of beautiful displays. Take also your time to observe the traditional tribal houses reconstructed within the ground.

Now comes the time to pay a visit to Ngoc Son Temple on a small island of the Hoan Kiem Lake by crossing the The Huc bridge, which name carries the meaning of ‘Place Touched by Morning Sunbeams’. Listen to its history from the 13th century. Witness the local activities in the Hanoi Old Quarter, a bustling area of narrow streets is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers, and around the Hoan Kiem Lake with an one-hour Cyclo-drive. Originally each of the 36 street names’ was related to the products being sold there. You also may discover this place by a walk with great photo opportunities.

Day 3: Hanoi – Hoa Lu – Tam Coc – Hanoi – Night Train To Lao Cai (B, L)

After your breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up at around 8.00 am to start your day trip to Hoa Lu – Tam Coc in Ninh Binh province. This 110km drive for around two and a half hour will take you through amazing countryside landscapes on the way. Arrived in Ninh Binh city, you will make your first visit to the ancient capital Hoa Lu to admire the great architecture of the two temples of the Le and Dinh dynasties. Listen to some stories of these kings from your experienced guide.

Head further 16 km to Tam Coc, where you will first of all enjoy a tasty lunch in a local restaurant.

Be ready for your afternoon discovery of the three caves of Tam Coc. Embark a small sampan and stream around half and a half hour on the river. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, majestic limestone cliffs and mysterious caves as you pass by endless paddy fields and deserted green fields.

Afterwards you will have some time on your bike to explore the local life of the countryside. It is time to return to Hanoi. In Hanoi, you have some time for dinner and relax before you will be transferred to the railway station for an overnight train to Lao Cai.

Day 4: Lao Cai – Sapa (B, L)

Get picked up early in the morning by your enthusiastic tour guide at the Lao Cai railway station and transfer to a nearby restaurant for breakfast. Then you start your tour for 2 days and 1 night in Sapa. Upon arrival in Sapa, you will be transferred for further 7 km to the gate of Cat Cat village. Here you will discover the local life of the H’Mong ethnic minority, trek down the valley to the foot of the waterfall, where the French built a hydraulic power station and stop at the bridge for authentic photos of this unforgettable moment. You will finish your today trek by passing by breathtaking landscapes and arrive after 3 km at Shin Chai village. Your car is already waiting for you there to take you back to Sapa town.

In the afternoon, you have free time at your leisure to discover Sapa with all its attraction like the stone church, the historical square and lake. Should you be lucky enough and stay here on Saturday evening, you should definitely not miss out the chance to take part in the love market of the Red Dao.

Day 5: Sapa – Hanoi (B, L)

After your leisure breakfast in your hotel, you start a new trekking route in this mountainous area. Your car will bring you to the starting point in Y Linh Ho. Start your exciting trek along the most beautiful valley in Sapa of Muong Hoa, through the mesmerizing rice terraces to contemplate the spectacular landscapes of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range. You finish your trip in Ta Van village of the Dzay ethnic minority. The trekking route is about 9 km with a duration of 3 and a half hour. Get picked up at the Ta Van bridge and return to your hotel in Sapa, where you can take a rest and some refreshment. You have free time at your leisure to buy some souvenirs or just to relax until you head back to Hanoi at around 3.00 pm. You arrive at your hotel in Hanoi at around 9.00 pm.

Day 6: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B, L, D)

After breakfast, your guide and shuttle bus will pick you up at your hotel in the Hanoi Old Quarter and set off for around four hours through scenic landscapes with beautiful rice paddies to Halong Bay. Upon your arrival at the pier of Halong, you will embark on a wooden tender which takes you to your cruise on the bay. Enjoy your delicious seafood lunch and immerse into the fresh air and sceneries of breathtaking islands and limestone karst passing by. In the afternoon you have time for some watersports like swimming and kayaking in the crystal clear water. Depending on the itinerary of your cruise, you also explore some of the limestone caves in the region.

As the sun starts to set, the ship will set its anchor in a tranquil area for the night. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 7: Halong Bay – Cat Ba Island (B, L, D)

You are recommended to get up early this morning to enjoy the mesmerizing views of the bay when the sun rises or participate in the Tai Chi exercises for good health. Enjoy your breakfast on board. Today you will embark a day boat to explore more remote areas of the bay. Depending on your cruise itinerary, you may also have the chance for further exploration of mysterious caves like Sung Sot (Surprise cave) or the well-hidden Thien Canh Son cave. Then, you will be transferred to Gia Luan pier or Viet Hai harbor (depending on your cruise itinerary) on the Cat Ba island, which you arrive by noon time. Lunch will be served on board during your transfer.

Your afternoon activities offers you several choices like a visit to the Monkey island, a cycle trip to Viet Hai village through wonderful jungle, a light trek in Viet Hai village or even rock climbing on the island.

Day 8: Cat Ba Island – Halong Bay – Hanoi – Night Train To Dong Hoi (B, L)

After breakfast in your hotel and some delightful time on the Cat Ba island morning landscapes, your day boat will pick you up and transfer to your cruise. Depending on the route of your cruise, you will have different chances of swimming, cave exploration or kayaking. You may also participate in a cooking class demonstrated by the cruise chef. A brunch will be served on your way back to the Halong pier. On your arrival at the pier, your shuttle bus will bring you back to Hanoi. Day 9: Dong Hoi – Phong Nha Cave – Dong Hoi (B, L)

Upon arrival in Dong Hoi in the early morning, get a taxi to your nearby hotel (on your own cost) for some rest and refreshment. Take an early breakfast as you will be picked up at your hotel in Dong Hoi soon. You take a drive for around one and a half hour, leaving behind you 70 km, to your destination, the amazing Phong Nha cave and Tien Son cave. On your arrival, you embark a local Dragon boat trip along Son river to discover the caves. The first one will be Tien Son cave, or also known under the name Dry cave, one of the most spectacular caves in Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park.

This cave was by chance founded in the year 1935 by a local inhabitant. It is located at the height of 200m above the sea level with an impressing length of 1 km. On your trip you will explore thousands amazing naturally shaped stalactites and stalagmites in its first 400 m as the light system only last till this distance. The rest of the cave is underground and quite dangerous.

Your discovery lasts for one and a half hour, then it’s time for lunch to refill your energy for the highlight of today, the Phong Nha cave or also called Water cave. This wonderful cave, which was formed around 400 million years ago, has been awarded as World Heritage Site of Quang Binh Province since 2003. Take your time to explore the oldest Karst Mountain in Asia with the longest underground river system of 8 km and height of 50 m.

Your journey in Phong Nha cave brings you an extensive variety of grottoes and chambers such as Bi Ky Grotto, Cung Dinh Grotto…Fulfill your day with the breathtaking views as your boat heads back to the mainland, where your car is already waiting for you to take you back to your hotel.

Day 10: Dong Hoi – Day Bus To Hue – Free (B)

In the morning, you will be transferred by local bus to Hue for around 4 hours. Upon your arrival, you will have a free day to refill your energy for your upcoming days.

Day 11: Hue City Tour (B, L)

After your leisure breakfast, you will be picked up by your guide at your hotel to start you full day trip in Hue. Your first destination will be the Minh Mang king’s tomb, a complex with 40 constructions of palaces, temples, pavilions, etc. It is considered as the perfect combination of man-made and natural beauty. Head 15 minutes to Khai Dinh king’s tomb, a blend of eastern and western architecture. Your last tomb for today will be Tu Duc king’s tomb, the king with the longest reign during the Nguyen Dynasty. Afterwards you will visit the traditional martial art Van An with arts originated from the Nguyen Dynasty which exercises help you to have a healthier life. Before you head back to the city center to savor your lunch with local dishes, you spend 15 minutes to learn more about conical hats and incense in a traditional village.

Your afternoon is dedicated to the Imperial City of Hue – one of the seven World Heritage Sites of Vietnam. Your visit includes the Flag Tower, Ngo Mon Gate, Nine Dynastic Ums, Nine Holy Cannons, Thai Hoa Palace and Forbidden Purple City. Your day will be completed with a boat trip on the Perfume river to the famous Thien Mu pagoda. Return to your hotel for overnight.

Day 12: Hue – Day Bus to Da Nang – Hoi An Free (B, L)

After your leisure breakfast in the hotel, you will take a day bus from Hue on a mesmerizing journey to Hoi An. Your drive will take you through the Hai Van Pass- one of the most scenic hillside roads in Vietnam. En route, you will have chance to relax at one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, Lang Co beach.

Upon arrival in Hoi An, you have the rest of your day is free at your leisure. Enjoy your time with friends and family in this dreaming ancient city.

Day 13: Hoi An – My Son – Hoi An (B)

After your breakfast in the hotel, you set off for your today adventure (around 50 km, about one and a half hour) to My Son sanctuary. This ancient imperial city during the Champa dynasty, (from 4th to 12th century), was the place to hold religious ceremonies of the kings and burial place for Champa royals and national heroes. On your arrival, you will have one and a half hour to discover the 65 architectural Champa temples, spread all over a valley of roughly two kilometers, surrounded by two breathtaking mountain ranges. It was the year 1999, when UNESCO labeled the Cham architecture in My Son as a World Cultural Heritage Site. You should also take some time to enjoy the traditional Aspara dancing of Cham girls.

Then it’s time to return to Hoi An from the Cau Lau boat station. Stream leisurely along the Hoi An river and spend some time to visit Kim Bong carpentry village, Pottery village and Cam Ha fish market. Arrived in Hoi An, you will first check in into your hotel. Start your afternoon with a walk around the city to the first attraction, the Japanese Bridge Pagoda. Your trip leads you further to the Phuoc Kien Hall and Phung Hung Ancient House which is considered the heritage of the town. Afterwards you end your afternoon with a visit to the colorful market and ancient port for an insight into the daily life.

Day 14: Hoi An – Da Nang – Flight To Ho Chi Minh City – Free (B)

After your breakfast, you will take the transfer from your hotel to the Da Nang airport for a one hour flight to Ho Chi Minh city. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel and have the rest of your day free at your leisure to discover the city by yourself or just relax.

Day 15: Ho Chi Minh City Tour – Cu Chi Tunnel (B, L)

After your breakfast, your guide will pick you up for a 60 km journey to the famous Cu Chi tunnels (around one and a half hour drive). On arrival, you will get a short introduction and watch a documentary video about the life of Viet Cong in these tunnels during the war. The tunnels were not only home to thousands of people, but also supplied routes and hospitals for the soldiers. Then you have the chance to discover the tunnels by yourself. Jump in and explore the storage facilities, weapon factories, kitchens, etc. Afterwards, you are offered the choice to try out real guns like AK47 or MK16 at the nearby shooting range. You can then relax with rice tapioca and green tea just like the guerrilla soldiers during the war. Come back to Ho Chi Minh city for a late lunch.

After your lunch break, you will visit the War Remnants museum, which was originally opened since 1975, with old military equipment and other items related to the tragic time of Vietnam War. Your next afternoon attraction is the Reunification Palace, which symbolize the end of the war when a North Vietnamese Army tank crashed through its gates. Take a short walk to the Notre Dame Cathedral, a still active church and favorite place for Vietnamese wedding photos, and the Central Post Office, designed by the world famous architecture Gustav Eiffel. Finish your city tour at the Ho Chi Minh city hall, the most popular photographed building of this city, especially in the evening when the lights turn on.

Day 16: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta (B, L)

After breakfast in your hotel, you set off along 70 km for one and a half hour to My Tho city. In My Tho, you have some time to visit the Vinh Trang pagoda, one of the best known temples in this region. Then you embark a motorboat to the Turtle island. Stroll along the Mekong river with wonderful natural sceneries and view to fishing ports, stilt houses, etc. Upon your arrival on this island, you will visit a bee farm and enjoy the honey tea. You have also the chance to learn about the coconut candy making process in a local workshop. Continue your boat trip along a canal lined with orchards and covered by the shadows of the water coconut trees. You enjoy your lunch in a local house in the heart of an orchard garden.

After your midday break, you will take a walk through the village, visit fruit gardens. Feel free to enjoy the local fruits while you are listening to traditional Southern Vietnamese folk songs. You have also the choice to participate in the daily activities of the local farmers. Relax in the peaceful atmosphere of the beautiful countryside. Return to My Tho through the amazing Tan Thach canal and take a transfer to Can Tho.

Day 17: Mekong Delta – Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)

Enjoy your breakfast in your hotel and take then a further boat trip to explore the lower part of the Mekong river, especially the Cai Rang floating market. In the afternoon, you will visit a local village to get an inside view of the rural life. Try to cross the monkey bridge with only one bamboo stilt. Your last visit for today will be the Can Tho market. Take a three and a half hour drive back to Ho Chi Minh city.

Day 19: Phu Quoc Island Diving Tour (B, L)

After your leisure breakfast, you will be picked up by your enthusiastic guide to start your amazing diving day trip in Phu Quoc. On the way, you will take some time to visit a pearl farm, to learn how true pearls of the giant ocean are made. On your arrival at the An Thoi port, you will embark a boat and pass by famous islets like Pineapple islet, Coconut islet, etc. Then you arrive at the four islets area, where you enjoy a spectacular time with snorkeling. You may also participate in the fishing activities if you feel like. After one and a half hour, you will be served with a delicious lunch.
