ITINERARY FOR 8 DAYS 7 NIGHTS IN VIETNAM – CAMBODIA
Day 1 : Arrival in Hanoi – Free time. Walking tour (Dinner)
Once arrival to Hanoi airport, car and driver will come to pick you up and transfer you to the hotel in Old Quarter. The afternoon is free for you to relax, get to become familiar with Hanoi such as weather, timezone….
At 6pm, the tour guide will come to pick you up and go to walking tour around Old Quarter. This tour is called Food on Foot tour. By this tour, you will visit the Old Quarter, learn about history of Hanoi city, try the traditional food on the way of the tour. You will also visit the symbol of Hanoi ( Hoan Kiem lake ) and the night market if the day is at the weekend: Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Overnight in Hanoi Old Quarter hotel.
Day 2 : Hanoi – Halong bay – Cruise ship (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Around 08.00, Our guide Pick you up at your hotel and go to Halong bay on a shuttle bus. Take a rest at Humanity center and enjoy local specialties.
Arrival in Halong at 11.45. The captain and crew welcome you aboard. Savor the delicious lunch as boat pass through thousands of Islands and Islets with different shapes.
After lunch, explore the biggest and the most amazing cave in Halong Bay – Surprise Cave. Then Kayaking for an hour around the fishing village and discover the life of community there. Then back to boat for Sunset Party, get to calm, clean water place for swimming. Enjoy delicious and romantic dinner with some barbecue courses. ,In the evening, free time for entertainment with the funny plays such as squid fishing, karaoke program, stars watching on sundeck… Spend romantic night on board and overnight on board.
Day 3 : Halong bay – Hanoi (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
In the morning, breakfast, fruits, coffee and tea are served on board. Cruise further and stop-over at a pearl farm to sea real peace cultivated by local fisherman. After that, we continue cruising further, go throught many islands and islets to discover the hidden charm of the bay.
Join a cooking class opened right on the cruise for all the people are interested in cooking, especially cooking Vietnamese food. Cruise back to the prier while having lunch. Say goodbye to the crew and disembark. Get on bus to go back to Hanoi. Arrival in Hanoi around 04.30pm. The rest of day is for free to relax and enjoy the last evening in Hanoi city. Day 4: Hanoi city tour – Flight Ho Chi Minh city (Breakfast, Lunch)
After breakfast, you will check out hotel. At 8am, tour guide pick up from your hotel, then visit Ho Chi Minh complex, including Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum – the final resting place of Vietnamese great father or uncle Ho, president Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house- where he lived on and off from 1958 to 1969, where tourists will learn what he has done for Vietnam and some other countries and learn all kinds of information about president Ho Chi Minh.
The next place to move to is one Pillar Pagoda – a group of structures consisting of a pagoda and a tower built in the middle of a square lake. Leave one pillar pagoda for the temple of literature – the first college of Vietnam and the place dedicating to Confucian.
At 12.30, enjoy local lunch, then visiting ethnology museum where you have great chance to know about culture, custom, languages, houses of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam,
At 16 .00, the trip ends at your hotel, car and driver will transfer you to the airport in Hanoi city to get flight to Ho Chi Minh city. arrival, tour guide comes to pick you up and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Ho Chi Minh city.
Day 5: Full day Mekong delta – Floating market (Breakfast, Lunch)
Breakfast is at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh city. Bus and tour guide to pick you up at around 7.30am and departure for Mekong delta.
Enjoy the scenic journey along the way bordered by green rice fields. ,On arrived at My Tho, visit VinhTrang pagoda, take a leisurely boat ride along the river, view the stilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages along the river bank. Proceed to Tortoise islet, have lunch in the orchard garden. Then a boat ride to An Khanh – a less touristy attraction in Ben Tre, enjoy cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the shadow of the water coconut trees along natural canals, then enjoy seasonal fruit & honey tea to the sound of “Southern Vietnamese folk music”, performed by locals. ,Visit a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle, taste the delicious coconut candy & observe the pastoral life as you roam through the fruit plantation and village. Meet the bus and return to HCMC. This trip provides a fascinating insight into daily life in the Mekong Delta and you are guaranteed to take home your own private collection of beautiful memories.

Day 6: Ho Chi Minh city tour + Cu Chi tunnel. Flight to Siem Reap (Breakfast, Lunch)
In the morning after breakfast, you will departure for the city tour. You will visit, Independence Palace known at the Reunification palace, was built on the sight of the former Norodom palace. The Independence palace is a widely known landmark of Ho Chi Minh City and was designed by the architect Ngo Viet Thu. It was the sight of the end of the Vietnam/American war in 1975, as a North Vietnamese army tank crashed through the gates. The tank is still located at the Independence Palaces’ property.
Continue seeing the beautiful structures from the French Colonial times such as the Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office. Followed by the remarkable site of the War Remnants Museum the museum has a vast display of the both the Indochina wars. In courtyard massive military vehicles are for exhibition as well as tiger cages for the visitor to get a feel on how it was to be a prisoner during wartime. In the museum building itself, each floor will represent a separate theme from the war and the war crimes committed towards the Vietnamese people.
Tour guide and bus come to pick you up for Cu Chi tunnel. Arriving at Cu Chi tunnels (Ben Dinh) and proceeding to an underground hut to watch a short video and presentation about Cu Chi tunnels before having a real hand-on experience of what it took to live in the tunnels. Afterward, test tasting the steamed tapioca root which is the main staple food in Cu Chi during the war. For those interested, there is an opportunity to fire off an AK47 or MK16 with real ammunitions at the nearby shooting range. Tour finishes at your hotel at around 17.30pm. Day 7: The best day of Angkor Wat – The Golden Time of Khmer (Breakfast, Lunch)
In the morning, visit to the antique capital of Angkor Thom – The city of Temples located in present day Cambodia, was the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer empire built by Suryavarman II Emperor. Angkor Thom was built in the Golden Age of Khmer and became the symbol of Khmer Empire in early of 12th century. While the European people are discovering the ground, the Khmer People discovers astronomy. Angkor Thom is a great work, the result of outstanding achievements in architecture, the size, the feats of calculation and Khmer. The most highlight is Bayon temple – the most beautiful temple in Angkor Wat – well-known as the worships of Vinshu who was a Patron God of Suryavaman II. It is a temple of temple, greater than the great.
Continue your visit at the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.
In the afternoon, visit Angkor Wat the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor. The temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodian flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture.
Continue your visit to Ta Prohm, one of the most beautiful temples in Angkor. It was built in the end of 12th century until early of 13th century. It is not like another Hindu temples, this is the temple of Buddhism. He is the first Buddhist Emperor in Cambodia. Ta Phrohm expresses the accuracy and the wonder of art. To build it, they used 50,000 taels of gold, 50,000 taels of silver and a big amount of GEM. Stretching along the history, it has been forgotten and occupied by the plant. Day 8: Visit the formation of Cambodia – The beautiful temples. Departure (Breakfast, Lunch)
After having breakfast at the hotel, we will start to visit some beautiful temples in Siem Reap including:
– Roulous group with: Preah Ko, Bakon and Lolei. It is composed by three major temples: Bakong, Lolei, and Preah Ko, along with tiny Prasat Prei Monti. At both Bakong and Lolei there are contemporary Theravada buddhist monasteries.
– The Eastern Mebon is a 10th Century temple at Angkor, Cambodia. Built during the reign of King Rajendravarman, it stands on what was an artificial island at the center of the now dry East Baray reservoir.
– Ta Som is a small temple at Angkor, Cambodia, built at the end of the 12th century for King Jayavarman VII. It is located north east of Angkor Thom and just east of Neak Pean.
Neak Pean at Angkor, Cambodia is an artificial island with a Buddhist temple on a circular island in Preah Khan Baray built during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. It is the “Mebon” of the Preah Khan baray.
Preah Khan is a temple at Angkor, built by the King Jayavarman VII. Preah Khan is, like Ta Prohm, a place of towered enclosures and shoulder hugging corridors. However, the temple of Preah Khan is in a reasonable state of preservation and ongoing restoration efforts should maintain and even improve this situation.
